Description

Deviation cost

The journey cost incurred by shipping lines when deviating from the main sea route (i.e., the East West trunk sea route in the current study) to access hub ports.

Port cost

The monetary cost associated with operations at the hub port. This cost includes container handling charges; port dues, such as navigation dues; pilotage; towage; and so on.

Cost in feeder link

The cost associated with transporting cargo between hub and feeder ports. This criterion is relevant only for hub and spoke networks.
