LP1: Liner Shipping Connectivity Index

An index captures how well countries are connected to the global shipping network and reflects the strategies of container shipping lines seeking to maximize revenue through market coverage. It is computed based on number of ships, their container-carrying capacity, average and maximum vessel size, number of services, and number of companies that deploy container ships in ports.

LP2: Container Port Traffic

The flow of containers in 20-ft equivalent units from land to sea transport modes, and vice versa, including coastal shipping and international journeys. Transshipment traffic is counted as two lifts at the intermediate port and includes empty units.

TEUs

2000–2013: The World Bank
